Advanced dynamic modeling skills to support Nepal's goal of reaching 28,500 MW of generation capacity by 2035.
June 1, 2026 – June 5, 2026We are glad to share that the five-day training program, Capacity Building in Dynamic Modeling and Analysis of the Electric Grid (CDME), jointly organized by the Grid Modernization Laboratory — GML with funding support from the University Grants Commission, Nepal, successfully concluded on June 5, 2026.
The training equipped participants with the ability to dynamically model the electric grid and assess system security, with applications spanning power plants, system planning, operation, and control — directly in support of Nepal's national goal of reaching 28,500 MW of generation capacity by 2035.
It was truly inspiring to witness a diverse group of participants — from graduate students to senior faculty members, and from young engineers to experienced professionals — learning, collaborating, and helping one another throughout the sessions. Our sincere gratitude goes to all resource persons, volunteers, and participants who traveled from far and wide to make this program a success. We look forward to organizing many more such impactful trainings in the future.
